The head of the Kremlin’s internal policy department, Andrei Yarin, will lead Vladimir Putin’s campaign headquarters in the March 2024 presidential elections, if he runs. About it writes RBC with reference to sources.
According to one of the publication’s interlocutors, the list of headquarters members has already “almost been formed”; it will include “employees of several Kremlin departments, representatives of United Russia, and the ONF.”
The publication says that Yarin and other officials “will not be a public figure” while working at the headquarters, and media functions will be performed by “co-chairs of the headquarters, whose candidacies have not yet been determined.”
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has previously repeatedly stated that Putin has not yet announced his plans to run for a new presidential term. In a fresh commentary for RBC, he stated that “we never comment or announce this in advance.”
