RBC: Deputy Minister of Finance Moiseev may become CEO of ALROSA

Deputy Finance Minister Alexei Moiseev has become one of the candidates for the post of CEO of the world’s largest diamond mining company ALROSA, said RBC with reference to sources. Mr. Moiseev has been a member of the Supervisory Board of the company since 2018.
The press service of the Ministry of Finance and Alexei Moiseev did not comment on the sources’ information to RBC. The administration of the head of Yakutia, where the main activity of the company is concentrated, also declined to comment.
Formerly RBC informedthat the current CEO of ALROSA, Sergey Ivanov, decided to leave his post before the expiration of the contract in 2025. According to the publication, Mr. Ivanov could become a partner in one of the projects in Gennady Timchenko’s Volga Group. As ALROSA’s press service reported on February 22, Sergey Ivanov continues to work as CEO.
Sergei Ivanov is the son of the President’s Special Representative for Environmental Protection, Ecology and Transport, Sergei Ivanov. Sergei Ivanov Jr., after the start of the military operation, came under sanctions from the United States, Canada, Australia and Great Britain. ALROSA itself also fell under US sanctions.
