RBC announced the possible participation of SPB Exchange in the launch of a crypto exchange in Belarus

SPB Exchange is considering the possibility of participating in the creation of a cryptocurrency exchange in Belarus. This is reported RBC citing four sources in the financial market.
According to sources, the location was chosen in connection with the peculiarities of the Belarusian legislation — cryptocurrency has been legalized in the country since 2017. In this regard, Belarus “has a sufficiently developed infrastructure for conducting currency transactions.”
At the same time, as RBC emphasizes, SPB Exchange will not become a shareholder of the crypto exchange. Presumably, she can participate in the project, providing her expertise.
In Russia, there is no legislative norm for the regulation of crypto-exchanges. In 2022, parliamentarians were developing a project for a national crypto exchange, but by May 2023, this initiative was abandoned. MPs are now planning install rules for the functioning of crypto-exchanges on the territory of the Russian Federation.
