Ex-State Duma deputy Valery Rashkin (KPRF) sold his weapons and was left without a license to store them. He said that he decided to give up his passion for hunting. Mr. Rashkin calls the criminal case against him a “special operation” and assures that the elk, which he killed during an illegal hunt, was deliberately brought to the place.
“Today it became absolutely clear to me that this was a special operation. After that, everything turned around for me. I said goodbye to my past: I gave up hunting, sold all the weapons and was left without licenses for their storage, ”said Mr. Rashkin in an interview. “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
The ex-deputy believes that he was let down by the “negative experience of hunter friends”, whom he trusted for years. Mr. Rashkin is sure that “everything was planned.” “That moose cow was brought to the clearing, it turns out. And suddenly there was a bunch of people with TV cameras on the spot, ”he added.
Saratov court in April acknowledged Valery Rashkin guilty under Part 2 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code (illegal hunting committed by a group of persons by prior agreement) and sentenced him to three years of imprisonment with a suspended sentence of two years. In May, the State Duma ahead of schedule deprived deputy powers.
