Putin will take part in the Eurasian Economic Forum in Moscow

On May 24-25, Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in the events of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) summit in Moscow. About it informs Kremlin press office.

On May 24, the head of state will speak at the plenary session of the Eurasian Economic Forum. The next day, Putin will take part in a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council. During the event, the implementation of the priorities of the Russian presidency in the EAEU in 2023 will be discussed, including issues of energy and food security, technological and financial independence, etc.

The meeting will also raise issues of expanding trade and economic relations of the union with third countries and regional associations. The Kremlin clarified that Putin has several meetings planned with the leaders of the countries – members of the EAEU and the states invited to the summit.

Putin” Pavel Zarubin toldthat on the sidelines of the summit there will be several bilateral talks between the president of the Russian Federation and the leaders of the countries of the union. In particular, on May 24, Putin will meet with President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko. According to the Belarusian leader, the parties discuss “problems that should not exist at all” in relations between the two countries.

The possibility of a trilateral meeting between Putin, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev is also being discussed in the press, Zarubin noted.

The EAEU includes Russia, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan and Armenia. In 2023, Russia will chair the EAEU. Last year, the EAEU summit was held in Bishkek on December 9. As a result of the meeting, the leaders signed 15 documents. In January of this year, Putin said that the union has every chance of becoming “one of the powerful, independent, self-sufficient poles of the emerging multipolar world.”
