On December 20, Russian President Vladimir Putin will take part in a meeting of the Council of Legislators in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Federal Assembly of Russia. The Kremlin press service reported this in its Telegram-channel.
The Council of Legislators is a consultative and advisory body created for the purpose of interaction between the chambers of parliament and the legislative branch of the constituent entities of Russia, as well as for the exchange of experience.
At the meeting of the Council of Legislators there will be Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin, deputies, chairmen of legislative bodies of the constituent entities of Russia and others. The meeting of the Council of Legislators takes place at least twice a year. The last time they met was April 27.
This year the Federation Council and State Duma celebrate their 30th anniversary. The first elections to the Russian parliament were held on December 12, 1993.
