Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday, February 9, will meet with representatives of the aviation industry, the Kremlin press service reports. The meeting will be held on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of domestic civil aviation.
“On February 9, on the day of the 100th anniversary of domestic civil aviation, Vladimir Putin will meet with representatives of the professional aviation community and will take part in the opening ceremony of civil aviation facilities via videoconference,” the statement said.
The Russian President will also participate in the gala evening at the State Kremlin Palace. There, the head of state will present state awards to representatives of the industry.
In November 2022 Putin established Anniversary medal “100 years of Russian civil aviation”. According to the regulation on the anniversary medal, it is awarded to employees of civil aviation organizations, state civil and municipal employees, employees of state authorities, state authorities of the country’s constituent entities and other persons who have contributed to the formation and development of domestic civil aviation.
From the description of the award, it follows that the medal is made of gold-colored metal and has the shape of a circle with a diameter of 32 mm. On the front side of this award is an MS-21 passenger plane taking off against the background of a stylized image of the Northern Hemisphere with a map of Russia superimposed on it. At the top, along the circumference, is the inscription “100 years of civil aviation in Russia.”
