Vladimir Putin, the leader in the Russian presidential elections, said that on March 18 he will meet with other candidates – Vladislav Davankov (New People), Leonid Slutsky (LDPR), Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation). In particular, it is planned to discuss the election results with the candidates.

Vladimir Putin, commenting on the election results, noted the “noble and very correct task” of the New People party, from which Vladislav Davankov was nominated. “Some kind of novelty is always attractive to people, people are always waiting for some kind of changes, transformations, and therefore the result that was achieved, and I know the leaders of this party well, first of all, their attention is focused on creating favorable conditions for development business,” Mr. Putin said at a press conference.

The electorate of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin said, is “first of all, patriotic.” According to him, these voters in the current conditions support the current head of state, given the “difficult situation” in which Russia finds itself. “And this also influenced the final results,” he noted.

After processing 80% of the protocols based on the results of voting in the elections, Vladimir Putin (self-nominated) dials 87.15% of the votes, Nikolai Kharitonov (Communist Party of the Russian Federation) – 4.22%, Vladislav Davankov (New People) – 4.04%, Leonid Slutsky (LDPR) – 3.16%, follows from the data of the Central Election Commission. The overall turnout was 74.22% (data as of 18:00 Moscow time).
