On Wednesday, December 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an expanded meeting of the board of the Ministry of Defense. About it informs Kremlin press office.

“At a meeting at the national defense control center, the results of the activities of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in 2022 will be summed up, and tasks for the next year will be set,” the Kremlin said in a statement.

Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu is expected to deliver a keynote speech. The press service clarified that the minister will talk about the progress of the special operation in Ukraine and the amount of military equipment that entered the troops in 2022. He will also report on the construction of military infrastructure and measures of social support for military personnel. A separate topic will be the results of the international activities of the Ministry of Defense.

Commands of military districts, types and arms of the Armed Forces (AF), heads of central bodies of military administration and representatives of federal executive bodies will also join the meeting. In addition, about 15,000 officials of the RF Armed Forces will take part in the event via videoconference, the Kremlin said.

In October, during a meeting with Shoigu Putin indicated on the need to “make adjustments in the construction of all components of the Armed Forces” taking into account the experience of the special operation. The head of state said that he was waiting for a report from the minister on the work done in December at the annual board.

December 17 in the Kremlin toldthat Putin visited the joint headquarters of the military branches involved in the military special operation. It was noted that the president got acquainted with the work of the headquarters, heard a report on the progress of the special operation and held a conference and separate meetings with the commanders.
