Tomorrow, December 19, Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold an extended meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense, reported Kremlin press service. The meeting will be held at the National Defense Management Center.

At the meeting it is planned to sum up the activities of the armed forces in 2023, set tasks for 2024 and determine priorities for the further development of the Russian army and navy. Vladimir Putin, the Kremlin specified, will get acquainted with promising models of equipment, weapons, ammunition and protective equipment.

The meeting will be attended by Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, who will make a keynote speech, as well as commands of military districts, branches and branches of the Russian Armed Forces, heads of central military command and control bodies and representatives of federal executive authorities.

An extended meeting of the Board of the Ministry of Defense with Vladimir Putin takes place annually. The last time it took place December 21, 2022. Then the president ordered to study NATO’s experience and tactics for their inclusion in the program for training troops and equipping the army, to develop the nuclear triad, and to expand the arsenal of modern strike weapons. He also called on the Ministry of Defense to be attentive to criticism and respond to it.
