Russian President Vladimir Putin today, February 21, will address the Federal Assembly. The message will be the first since the deployment of troops to Ukraine at the end of February 2022.
The head of state will deliver a message at the Gostiny Dvor in Moscow. The event will start at 12:00. Members of the government, deputies, senators, public figures and participants in the military operation are invited to it.
Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov saidthat a lot of time in the message will be devoted to the topic of the military operation. In his opinion, the citizens of the Russian Federation want to “hear an assessment of what is happening, an assessment of the special operation, an assessment of the international situation and the president’s vision of how we are coping with this and how we are going to develop further.”
The Presidential Address to the Federal Assembly is an annual event. It did not take place in 2022. Mr. Putin explained this by the intense dynamics of events, the need to fix the results.
