Putin: West has turned Ukraine into a colony and uses its people as cannon fodder

Western countries have turned Ukraine into a colony and use the people of this country as cannon fodder. This statement was made by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a video message to the participants of the meeting of the heads of defense departments of the SCO and CIS member states.
“For a number of years, the West shamelessly siphoned off and exploited its (Ukraine – TASS note) resources, encouraged genocide and terror in the Donbass, actually turned this country into a colony and now cynically uses the Ukrainian people as cannon fodder, as a battering ram against Russia, continuing to supply Ukraine with weapons and ammunition, sending mercenaries, pushes it on a suicidal path, ”said the head of state (quote according to TASS).
In November, at a meeting with historians and representatives of traditional religions of the Russian Federation, Putin declaredthat the West, since the collapse of the Union, has been interfering in the internal affairs of Ukraine, bringing the wick to the collapse of Russia. According to him, in the decades after the collapse of the USSR, “Ukraine went through the path of direct, overt interference by Western countries in its internal affairs,” and they tried to do the same with Russia. Then Putin noted that in Ukraine “it was possible to introduce” pseudo-values into the minds of people and actually made “anti-Russia” out of the country.
“It is Ukraine, the Ukrainian people, that is the first and main victim of the deliberate sublimation of hatred for the Russians, for Russia. In Russia, everything is exactly the opposite – you know this very well: we have always treated the Ukrainian people with respect and warmth. So it was and is, despite today’s tragic confrontation,” the president said.
Putin has repeatedly spoken about the involvement of Western countries in the aggravation of the situation in the world. Thus, during his speech at a meeting of the Valdai Discussion Club, Putin spokethat the West has recently taken a number of actions aimed at aggravating the situation in the world, including inciting a conflict in Ukraine and aggravating the situation around Taiwan. Then he stressed that the West does not have unity.
