Putin visited the Zvezda shipyard in the Primorsky Territory – Kommersant

Russian President Vladimir Putin, during a working trip to the Primorsky Territory, together with the head of Rosneft Igor Sechin, visited the Zvezda shipyard, reported VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin. The company is located in the city of Bolshoi Kamen, located 30 km from Vladivostok.

According to RIA Novosti, the Zvezda plant will host a naming ceremony for two Arctic ice-class tankers. One of them will be named “Valentin Pikul” in honor of the Russian writer, and the second will be named “Alexei Kosygin” in honor of the former chairman of the USSR Council of Ministers.

“I am confident that the new ships will be worthy of these illustrious names. After all, these are modern, powerful sea vessels equipped with the latest technology, without exaggeration, one of the best in their class in the world. They are capable of operating at extremely low temperatures, in harsh climatic conditions, passing through ice barriers, and transporting large volumes of oil and gas,” said Vladimir Putin.

The head of state is on a working trip to the Primorsky Territory arrived today, September 11th. The work program of the head of state at the Eastern Economic Forum taking place in Vladivostok will consist of two days; tomorrow, September 12, he will speak at the plenary session of the forum.

Today, Vladimir Putin, according to the Kremlin press service, will get acquainted with an interactive presentation of the achievements of the Far East with the connection via video conferencing of residents of territories of rapid socio-economic development, ready to launch their production. He will also hold a meeting on the development of cities in the Far Eastern Federal District and will hear a report from Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin on the progress of building cultural and educational clusters in Russia. Also scheduled for September 11 is a working meeting between Putin and the Governor of the Primorsky Territory, Oleg Kozhemyako.
