Russia’s border regions should not be shelled by the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), said President Vladimir Putin. This task is facing the Ministry of Defense of the country, the head of state noted.
“Of course, the priority task is to eliminate the very possibility of shelling, but this is the business of the military department,” Putin said at a meeting on the restoration of residential infrastructure destroyed in border areas and as a result of emergencies, transmits Kremlin press office.
Particular attention at today’s meeting should be paid to supporting the residents of Crimea, Belgorod, Bryansk and Kursk regions, whose houses and apartments in the border areas were damaged or completely destroyed due to shelling from Ukraine, the Russian president said. Putin stressed that many citizens in these regions found themselves in a difficult situation – “lost their homes, forced to move to relatives or temporary residences, faced interruptions in the supply of water, heat, electricity.”
“I draw the attention of colleagues in the government and in the field: the problems for citizens are very acute,” the head of state said at the meeting. Putin announced the need to repair or compensate for the loss of homes, apartments, return energy, water supply facilities, etc. to normal operation. The president emphasized that the solution of these tasks “should not slip, get stuck in bureaucratic procedures.” He urged to act quickly and effectively.
