Russian President Vladimir Putin asked the Defense Ministry to respond to criticism, even if it is emotional, and to be attentive to civilian initiatives. He stated this during an extended meeting of the board of the Russian Defense Ministry.

“I ask the Ministry of Defense to be attentive to all civilian initiatives, including taking into account criticism and responding to it correctly and in a timely manner. <...> such a reaction can be emotional, but one must, of course, hear those who do not hush up the existing problems, but seek to contribute to their solution, ”he said (cit. according to TASS).

Putin stressed that problems “in such a large, complex work, of course, always appear,” so it is necessary to pay attention to the reaction of citizens and their criticism in order to solve the emerging difficulties.

The President pointed out that the mobilization showed what problems exist and need to be addressed. In particular, Putin noted the need to modernize the military registration and enlistment office system. November 25 head of state instructed by April 2024, to form a state information resource necessary for updating military registration data.

Partial mobilization went on in Russia from September 21 to October 31. Putin noted that 318,000 people were mobilized as a result, since a large number of volunteers wanted to go to the war zone. At the same time, during the mobilization activities, many reports were received from citizens about the organization of the draft, the quality of supplies and living conditions. At the end of September, Putin demanded to “correct all the mistakes and prevent them from happening again.” After that, the Kremlin reported that measures were being taken to improve the system.
