In December 2022 Putin instructed the government to prepare by the end of the first quarter of 2023 a special program for the socio-economic development of new regions of Russia so that by 2030 they reach the all-Russian level in terms of the quality of life and infrastructure.

Then the president stressed that in the new regions, in particular, all-Russian social security standards would be introduced, a maternity capital program and payments to needy families would appear, and pensions would be increased. Schools, clinics and kindergartens will also be built in the new subjects, economic activity will be stimulated, and their industrial and agricultural potential will be developed. Russia has come this way with Crimea and Sevastopol, and therefore “knows what needs to be done,” the head of state added.

At a meeting with participants in the II Congress of Young Scientists last year, Putin urged do everything to support the inhabitants of the new regions, since these are “our people”.
