Putin to hold extended Security Council meeting on security in new regions on April 5

Russian President Vladimir Putin will hold a meeting of the Security Council tomorrow, April 5, via videoconference. It will discuss security and law and order in the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions. Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev will make a report, the Kremlin press service reported.
“Issues of ensuring the rule of law, law and order and public security on the territory of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, as well as Zaporozhye and Kherson regions will be considered. Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev will make a keynote speech,” the press service said in a statement.
Vladimir Putin regularly holds meetings with permanent members of the Security Council. Extended meetings are held less often. The last such meeting took place in October 2022. It discussed the situation with migration.
