The future of Russia depends only on us, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at the plenary session of the Eastern Economic Forum (WEF).
“Our future depends on us,” the president said.
The President also noted that Russia must be self-sufficient, but this does not mean isolating the country.
“This means that we, in cooperation with our partners and friends, in integration with the vast majority of countries <...> We will develop our own country and make it even stronger,” he said. According to the president, at the same time it is necessary to preserve the “soul of Russia.”
On July 13, during a speech at a plenary meeting of the Forum for Future Technologies, the president said that despite the sanctions, Russia will move forward in its own way, without isolating itself from other countries.
He noted that “opponents hoped that Russia would retreat, surrender, but it will not happen.” The head of state stated that a blockade was actually declared on Russia. According to him, by limiting access to technology, they tried to force the country to “give up sovereignty, the right to choose their own historical path.”
