Putin: the decision not to expand the Trans-Siberian and BAM was a mistake
[ad_1]
The refusal to expand the Trans-Siberian and Baikal-Amur (BAM) highways due to insufficient traffic was a mistake, the Russian president believes. In his opinion, this error is correctable.
“Of course, it was necessary to do this in a timely manner … Moreover, appropriate decisions were made, including during my trip to Kuzbass, I remember this well. But then, nevertheless, the point of view prevailed, according to which it is difficult to expect the necessary volume of transportation, primarily, of course, coal, to the east. Now we see that this position turned out to be erroneous. But there is nothing catastrophic here,” the President noted during the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF-2022).
Now the Cabinet is considering an increase in the number of railway troops to speed up work on the Trans-Siberian and BAM. TBAthat the railway troops will be engaged in the creation of two new buildings.
The main thing from Vladimir Putin’s speech at the WEF is material “b”.
