Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decree, which suspends a number of tax agreements with unfriendly states – the United States, Canada, Japan, the EU and other countries. As follows from the published document, the validity of certain provisions of the agreement on the avoidance of double taxation is suspended. We are talking about agreements that affect income and property.
The decree suspends certain provisions of agreements with Poland, the United States of America, South Korea, Sweden, Luxembourg, Romania, Bulgaria, Great Britain, Hungary, Ireland, Slovakia, Albania, Belgium, Slovenia, Croatia, Canada, Switzerland, Montenegro, Czech Republic, Denmark, Italy , Finland, Germany, France, Macedonia, Cyprus, Spain, Lithuania, Iceland, Portugal, Austria, Greece, New Zealand, Australia, Singapore, Malta and Japan.
The government was instructed to develop appropriate laws and submit them to the State Duma for consideration. Agreements, as follows from the decree, are suspended until “the elimination by foreign states of the violations they have committed of the legitimate economic and other interests of the Russian Federation, the rights of its citizens and legal entities.”
