Putin supported the plans of the governor of the Oryol region Klychkov to go to a new term

Russian President Vladimir Putin met with Governor of the Oryol Region Andrey Klychkov. The President approved his intention to run for a new governor’s term. The governor, in turn, said that the inhabitants of his region had collected a billion rubles for the needs of the participants in the military operation.

At a meeting with the president, Andrei Klychkov asked to support him in the upcoming elections. “For my part, of course, I will do everything to support you,” Vladimir Putin promised (quote from site Kremlin). He also shared his assessment of the work of the governor. “Your performance indicators are quite satisfactory, everything is developing steadily and reliably,” the president said.

Vladimir Putin pointed to the problems of the region. “The issue to which special attention should be paid is medicine. In your plan, you have the completion of the construction of a multidisciplinary medical center, but the existing facilities require special attention, they require repairs, including major repairs,” the president said.

The governor of the Oryol region said that he himself “traveled through all our new territories, visited them” and plans to go there again in the near future. “Together with the residents, together with the business of our small region, we have collected more than 1 billion rubles, thousands of tons of humanitarian cargo,” Klychkov noted. According to him, two to three humanitarian convoys have been sent to the war zone since March 2022. “We are not only taking Orlovites, we are taking everyone who is in the unit there,” the governor added.

Andrei Klychkov graduated from the Kaliningrad Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, worked for two years in the criminal investigation department. After that, he joined the Communist Party. He was an assistant to the State Duma deputy from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation Anatoly Lokot. In 2009, he was elected to the Moscow City Duma from the Communist Party. In 2017, the President, by decree, appointed him Acting Governor of the Oryol Region. As a result of the gubernatorial elections in 2018, he received 83% of the vote and became the head of the region.
