Relations between Russia and South Ossetia are of a special nature and are developing in all directions. This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin at a meeting with the head of South Ossetia Alan Gagloev.
“Relations between South Ossetia and Russia – it seems to me that comments are unnecessary – they are of a special nature. But I would like to note that relations are developing in all areas, including in the economic sphere,” he said (cit. according to RIA Novosti). In particular, the growth of trade over the past year amounted to 12%, Putin said.
The head of state drew attention to the development of investment and credit programs, as well as programs for socio-economic development and financial assistance to South Ossetia.
Putin and Gagloev met today in the Kremlin. Initially, it was reported that their meeting would take place in February, but her moved due to the coronavirus confirmed in Gagloev.
The President of South Ossetia has already visited Moscow in August and December 2022 and held talks with Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration Dmitry Kozak (who oversees relations with border states). At the same time, after the election of Gagloev in May 2022, Putin did not meet with him.
