Putin spoke about the problems in the work of the CSTO

There are problems in the work of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO), but the organization helps to protect the sovereignty of member countries, Russian President Vladimir Putin said.
“Of course, we see not only achievements, but also problems. But still, it is obvious to us that joint work within the framework of the CSTO brings visible practical results, helps to ensure the protection of national interests, sovereignty and independence of our countries, ”- quotes President’s press service of the Kremlin.
At the same time, the head of state noted that in 2022 the dynamics of joint work in the organization has increased. The CSTO members interact within the framework of joint mechanisms through the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Ministries of Defense, security councils, parliaments, he added.
This year the CSTO summit is chaired by Armenia, next year Belarus will chair the organization.
Earlier today it became known that the representative of Kazakhstan, Imangali Tasmagambetov, will become the new CSTO Secretary General. Now the duties of the CSTO Secretary General are performed by the representative of Belarus Stanislav Zas.
