Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the denunciation of the agreement between Russia and Ukraine on the use of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Kerch Strait. Document published on the official portal of legal information.

“To denounce the agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine on cooperation in the use of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Kerch Strait, signed in the city of Kerch on December 24, 2003,” the document says.

The draft law on the denunciation of the treaty was submitted to the State Duma by the president on May 24. The explanatory note stated that Ukraine withdrew from this agreement on March 25. On June 1, the State Duma immediately denounced the treaty in three readings. In the Kremlin, the need to denounce the treaty explained the fact that the Sea of ​​\u200b\u200bAzov became inland.

The agreement between Russia and Ukraine on cooperation in the use of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Kerch Strait was signed at the end of 2003 in Kerch. The agreement emphasized the importance of economic development between the two countries and the preservation of the economic and natural complex of water areas.
