Russian President Vladimir Putin signed laws on federal budget for 2024 and the planning period 2025-2026, as well as the law on increase minimum wage (minimum wage) from January 1, 2024 to 19,242 rubles.
Currently, the minimum wage is 16,242 rubles. Starting next year, it will increase by 18.5%. The government noted that as a result, wages will increase for 4.8 million people.
According to the law on the federal budget, next year revenues will increase by 22.3% – from 28.67 trillion to 35.06 trillion rubles. Expenses will increase by 15.8% and exceed revenues by 1.6 trillion rubles. The 2024 budget provides for military spending to increase 1.7 times compared to the current year and reach 25% of all spending.
The government submitted a project to increase the minimum wage for consideration in the State Duma on September 29 on behalf of Vladimir Putin. The document was submitted along with the draft federal budget for 2024–2026.
