The fee for providing a license to provide communication services will increase from 7,500 to 1 million rubles. Law signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin published on the official legal information portal.
The federal law amending the Tax Code of the Russian Federation was adopted by the State Duma on September 21 and approved by the Federation Council on September 25. The law will come into force on January 1, 2024.
The certificate from the state legal department clarifies that the federal law establishes a state fee for a license to provide communication services, for which a mandatory requirement is established “to ensure compliance with the requirements for networks and communications for carrying out operational investigative activities in the amount of 1 million rubles. for each name of communication service.”
According to the Ministry of Digital Development, which developed the law, the increase in state duty will help significantly reduce the number of unscrupulous telecom operators and create reliable operators who are motivated to work efficiently and conscientiously. It was clarified that this would only affect new operators, and existing licenses would be renewed under the same conditions.
