The security forces need to make sure that the shelling of border regions and new territories by Ukraine is reduced to zero. This task was set by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin.
“The task of all our military formations, the Ministry of Defense, volunteers is to make sure that there are no shelling at all. If [обстрелы] decreased already, then everything is going to this, ”he said.
Pushilin drew attention to the fact that the work of the air defense system was strengthened, which led to a decrease in the shelling of the DPR by the Armed Forces of Ukraine by half.
The fact that there were fewer attacks was also noticed by the acting head of the Luhansk People’s Republic, Leonid Pasechnik. “The situation on the territory of the LPR is relatively stable, controlled, but tense. The enemy began shelling the territory of the LPR much less frequently,” he said. According to Pasechnik, the Armed Forces of Ukraine began to shell objects with civilians more often.
The fact that the border regions should not be subjected to shelling, Putin said more than once. In particular, on February 1 put such a task before the Ministry of Defense. “Of course, the priority task is to eliminate the very possibility of shelling, but this is the business of the military department,” he said.
