In accordance with the law, the State Duma must make a decision on presidential elections at the end of the year. Then Vladimir Putin intends to announce whether he will participate in the presidential elections or not, the head of state said at the Eastern Economic Forum (EEF).
“In accordance with the law, parliament must make a decision at the end of the year. When the decision is made, the elections are announced, the date is named, then we’ll talk,” Mr. Putin said.
The Russian presidential elections are scheduled for March 17, 2024. This week his press secretary Dmitry Peskov statedthat preparations for the presidential elections have not yet begun. According to Mr. Peskov, if Vladimir Putin goes to re-election, then no one will be able to compete with him, since he enjoys “absolute support of the population.”
