Russian President Vladimir Putin said that he had not lost a single friend in Germany since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine. According to him, he regularly maintains contact with “his German friends.”
“I have a lot of friends there, in Germany, as you know, and all my friends, by the way, have survived. My real German friends have survived,” the head of state said, speaking at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP).
Vladimir Putin added that he and his friends from Germany regularly “joke at each other.” “We are all neighbors. We call cockroaches Prussians, and in Germany they call russen – Russians. Mutual jokes always take place between neighbors,” the president said.
Vladimir Putin noted that German entrepreneurs “always looked back at the shouts from Washington and were afraid to take any next step” in matters of cooperation with Russia. “In the end it ended the way it is. And, perhaps, such certainty is better, in the end, ”concluded the president.
Annual congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs passes at the Moscow International House of Music. This is the first meeting between Vladimir Putin and leading Russian entrepreneurs since February 24, 2022. The RSPP congress is attended by about 1,000 delegates, including major entrepreneurs, representatives of small and medium-sized businesses, and members of the Russian government.
