Putin: Russia is ready to fulfill its obligations on grain supplies

Russia is ready to fulfill all its obligations to export grain to other countries, including Pakistan, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with Pakistani Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar.
“In the months of this year alone, in my opinion, 1 million tons of grain have already been supplied to your country. We are ready to fulfill our obligations. And I must note that there are all the grounds and prerequisites for this,” he said (quote according to TASS).
Previously, the head of the Russian Grain Union (RGU) Arkady Zlochevsky reportedthat Russian grain supplies in the 2023-2024 agricultural year that began on July 1 may exceed 60 million tons – a record result from the previous season.
At the All-Russian Field Day in July, Minister of Agriculture Dmitry Patrushev said that in the 2022-2023 agricultural year [1 июля 2022 г. – 30 июня 2023 г.] Russia supplied 60 million tons of grain to foreign markets. According to him, since 2020 Russia has maintained the status of a net exporter of food; in 2022, the volume of supplies of agricultural products abroad amounted to $41.6 billion. Grain exports from the Russian Federation in the 2021-2022 agricultural year amounted to 38.1 million tons, and in 2020-2021 – 49 million tons.
Putin arrived in Beijing on October 17 for a two-day visit, where he will take part in the III International Forum “One Belt, One Road” on October 18. The Russian leader also held talks with Chinese President Xi Jinping and bilateral meetings with the Prime Minister of Vietnam, the President of Mongolia, the Prime Minister of Hungary and the President of Laos.
