Putin: Russia and China will sign an interaction plan until 2030

The prime ministers of Russia and China will sign a specific and significant plan for interaction until 2030 in Bishkek, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a press conference following the One Belt, One Road forum.

“In March, we reached certain agreements, eight points were set out there. Now in Bishkek, the prime ministers will have to detail these points and sign a plan for our interaction until 2030. This is a very good plan, it is so specific and significant,” he said.

Putin also noted that this work is being carried out “without any hesitation” or administrative delays, which is unusual for government agencies in any country.

Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Moscow on March 20-22 this year. Putin called the negotiations constructive and successful. Following the negotiations, the leaders of Russia and China signed a number of statements. In particular, a document was adopted on the development plan for key areas of Russian-Chinese economic cooperation until 2030.

This is the third time Putin has attended the “One Belt, One Road” forum. The current visit, in fact, was a response to Xi Jinping’s official visit to Russia in March. It was then that President Xi invited Putin to China. At the end of May, Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin also flew to China, where he took part in the Russian-Chinese business forum in Shanghai and held negotiations with Xi Jinping. A month ago, Foreign Minister Wang Yi came to Russia, and Vladimir Putin also met with him in St. Petersburg.
