Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the questions that were asked to him during the “Results of the Year” on December 14. According to him, he remembered one of the phrases on the screen, at the end of which the author wrote: “I will not vote for you.” Mr. Putin responded to this by saying that any criticism addressed to him “should be taken as a guide to action.”

“We have a lot to do, and in no case should we take any criticism towards us painfully. We need to be grateful to people for paying attention to those issues that we have not yet resolved,” the president said during a meeting with the heads of municipalities of the constituent entities (quote from TASS).

Mr. Putin noted that there are more unresolved problems than solved ones. According to him, the more problems are solved, the more “horizons open up for people.” “And there is nothing bad here, I’ll say it bluntly: I want more, because other needs appear. And this is absolutely normal,” the president concluded.

On December 14, 2023, Gostiny Dvor hosted the “Results of the Year with Vladimir Putin” – a combined press conference and direct line. The screens located in the conference hall displayed questions asked by Russians through a special website. During the conference, the president answered 67 questions, among them about when peace will come in Ukraine, whether there will be a second wave of mobilization, why abortion is banned in Russia, and why eggs are becoming more expensive.
