Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law that establishes the size of the minimum subsistence level (SMIC) in 2023. The minimum wage for Russia as a whole per capita is set at 14,375 rubles, for pensioners – 12,363 rubles, for children – 13,944 rubles, for the working population – 15,669 rubles. 10 November Vladimir Putin instructed the government to develop proposals for the accelerated growth of the minimum wage and its separation from the subsistence minimum. The Cabinet of Ministers must submit the results of work on this issue by January 15, 2023.
Head of the Russian Ministry of Labor Anton Kotyakov spokethat from January 1, 2023, the minimum wage, taking into account indexation by 10%, will increase by 16.9% in annual terms, the cost of living – by 13.6%.
