The families of the military personnel who died as a result of the rebellion, the founder of PMC Wagner Yevgeny Prigozhin, will receive support. This was announced by Russian President Vladimir Putin during a meeting with the military.

Earlier, speaking on the Cathedral Square of the Moscow Kremlin in front of the military and law enforcement officers, Putin said that on June 24, pilots were killed during the confrontation with the rebels. “They did not flinch and honorably fulfilled the order and their military duty,” the head of state said, offering to honor their memory with a minute of silence. He did not name the number of dead pilots.

On June 26, during an address to the citizens of Russia, Putin noted that “the courage and self-sacrifice of the fallen heroes-pilots saved the country from tragic devastating consequences.”

The Ministry of Defense also did not name the number of victims of the rebellion. At the same time, the military commander of Channel One Irina Kuksenkova in her Telegram channel wrotethat a PMC shot down an IL-22 near Voronezh with 10 people on board. According to her, Prigozhin promised to pay compensation to the families of the victims. June 26 MP Andrey Gurelev declared RTVI TV channel that those responsible for the death of the pilots will be punished.

On June 24, Prigozhin attempted a military mutiny, accusing the Ministry of Defense of attacking the company’s rear camps. The Russian military department called the information about the strikes a provocation. On Saturday, Prigozhin took control of Rostov-on-Don and sent columns of PMCs towards Moscow.

On the evening of June 24, Prigozhin announced the stoppage of traffic to Moscow. The Kremlin reported that Lukashenka participated in negotiations to resolve the situation with the founder of the PMC.
