President Vladimir Putin at a press conference following a talk with Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Russia would be forced to respond to the supply of depleted uranium shells to Ukraine, as Zapala begins to use weapons with a nuclear component, TASS reports.
Earlier today, Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Russia was ready for a possible transfer of depleted uranium projectiles to Ukraine. According to him, these actions will inevitably lead to negative consequences.
“I would not be surprised at such a development of events if this delivery actually happens, but there is no doubt that it will end badly for them,” the head of the Russian Foreign Ministry told VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin (video published in Telegram channel Zarubina).
21 March British Defense Secretary Annabelle Goldie statedthat the country is ready to supply depleted uranium shells to Ukraine. She said the deliveries would be made alongside Challenger 2 tanks. According to her, depleted uranium rounds are capable of “effectively hitting modern tanks and armored vehicles.”
