Putin named the 291st artillery brigade “Guards”

Russian President Vladimir Putin gave the 291st Artillery Brigade the honorary title “Guards”. Relevant Document published on the official portal of legal information.
“For mass heroism and courage, steadfastness and courage shown by the personnel of the brigade in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts, assign the honorary name “Guards” to the 291st Artillery Brigade,” the document says.
March 31 head of state signed decree on awarding the 2nd mixed air regiment with the Order of Suvorov and conferring the honorary title “Guards”. Putin also gave the 236th Artillery Brigade the name “Guards” in a similar rationale.
The President previously assigned the name “Guards” to the 346th Separate Special Purpose Brigade and awarded the Order of Zhukov to the 10th Separate Special Purpose Brigade. In early March, the 266th Separate Attack Aviation Regiment and the 71st Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade received honorary titles.
