Putin named Nadym airport after Viktor Chernomyrdin

Chernomyrdin was born in 1938. From 1985 to 1989. he was the minister of the gas industry of the USSR. In 1989-1992 Chernomyrdin served as chairman of the board of Gazprom, then in 1992-1998 he was chairman of the government of the Russian Federation. From 2001 to 2009, the politician was the Russian ambassador to Ukraine, from 2009 to 2010. – Adviser to the President of Russia and Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for Economic Cooperation with the CIS Countries. Chernomyrdin died on November 3, 2010.
In August 2021 Putin signed a decree according to which Grozny International Airport was named after Akhmat Kadyrov, the first president of Chechnya and the father of the current head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov.
