Putin met with Acting Governor of the Omsk Region

Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the socio-economic situation in the region with Acting Governor of the Omsk Region Vitaly Khotsenko during a working meeting. About it informs Kremlin press office.

At the beginning of the meeting Khotsenko reported on the situation in the industry. According to him, the region is experiencing growth in both the industrial production index and processing by 7%. The Omsk region is in the top 5 industrial regions, he specified. “As for the defense industry, this is our key area, we are growing strongly: 50 billion rubles in revenue is twice as much as last year,” Khotsenko noted.

The Acting Governor also spoke about the situation in agriculture and construction. Putin drew attention to the long queue for housing among orphans. Khotsenko specified that 8,000 people are waiting for the apartments. He added that the developers will give the regional authorities 5% of all apartments, which will provide everyone “who needs it”, including orphans.

Khotsenko also touched upon the topic of the special operation. According to him, 10,000 residents of the Omsk region are now participating in the hostilities. He noted that in addition to presidential payments of 195,000 rubles. the authorities of the region pay additional 250,000 rubles to military personnel.

After listening to the report, the Russian leader called Khotsenko’s work “a very good start.” Putin urged to work on improving the environmental situation in the region and to resolve the issue of deceived equity holders, whose number is about 2,000 families. The head of state also suggested that Khotsenko “work directly with people” in order to hear the opinion of the population. According to Putin, this will increase the chances of the acting governor for people to trust him and trust him to work in the Omsk region.

On March 29, 2023, Putin accepted the resignation of Alexander Burkov from the post of governor of the Omsk region and appointed in his place was Vitaly Khotsenko, who previously held the post of chairman of the government of the DPR.
