Putin linked the imbalance in world food with the adventures of the West

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that the reason for the imbalance in world food was the “adventurous unprofessional policy” of Western countries. The head of state assured that Russia, as the world’s leading producer, will continue to help countries that are facing food shortages due to the actions of Western countries.

“Today, we ensure food security in terms of most key parameters: grain, sugar, vegetable oil, fish products and many other components. Separately, I would like to note the success of meat and meat products producers. In addition to saturating the domestic market, our livestock and poultry farmers export their products to more than 110 countries,” Mr. Putin said during a video conference on the occasion of the launch of a turkey production center in the Tyumen Region (quoted from site Kremlin).

On July 22, a grain deal between Russia, Ukraine, and Turkey was concluded in Istanbul with the participation of the UN. Vladimir Putin repeatedly declared about the readiness of the Russian Federation under the agreement to send 300 thousand tons of Russian fertilizers to developing countries, however, the implementation of this part of the deal was complicated due to EU sanctions. November 4 Turkey and Russia agreed about sending grain to Africa for free. November 11 UN informed on the shipment to Malawi of the first batch of Russian fertilizers previously blocked in Europe.
