American GPU developer Nvidia announced the complete cessation of all business operations in Russia, according to report companies in the third quarter.
“During the first quarter of fiscal year 2023, we suspended direct sales to Russia…In the third quarter of 2023, we closed business operations in Russia,” the document says.
Direct sales to Russia this year, according to the company, were “insignificant”, with the country accounting for approximately 2% of total sales and about 4% for gaming sales.
On March 6, Nvidia announced the suspension of the supply of its equipment to Russia due to the start of a Russian special operation in Ukraine. In July it became known that Nvidia stopped sell and renew licenses to Russian companies for their cloud gaming software.
After the start of the special operation in Ukraine, the largest Western brands announced their withdrawal from the Russian market and the suspension of investments. According to Yale University, more than 1,000 companies have reported this publicly. Electronics manufacturers (Apple, SamsungAsus, Intel, Sony, etc.), cars (Jaguar, Porsche, Rolls-Royce, Bentley) and other brands.
After the companies began to leave the Russian market, the Ministry of Industry and Trade approved a list of goods for parallel imports that can be imported into the Russian Federation without the consent of the manufacturer or copyright holder. In particular, it included goods from electronics manufacturers, cars, rare earth metals, sports equipment, etc.
