Putin: it’s safer to invest in Russia

It is safer and better to invest in Russia. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated this at a plenary meeting WEF.

“I have already addressed our entrepreneurs, many of whom have faced certain pressure from individual partners, and I want to repeat again today: it is certainly safer and better to invest in Russia,” he said.

We are talking about both large-scale infrastructure projects and local urban development and tourism projects, Putin explained. He urged businesses “not to step on the same rake twice.”

During a speech at the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) Putin also encouraged Russian businesses to invest money in domestic projects. “Our people have an apt saying: where you are born, you are useful,” the president said.

In March, during a speech at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs (RSPP), he statedthat a responsible business does not hide the funds received offshore, but registers companies in Russia and invests money in the construction of social facilities and infrastructure, thereby making “everyone’s life better.” Putin stressed that companies that invest resources in creating their own technologies and brands “must and will be supported.”
