Russian President Vladimir Putin invited Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to discuss the situation around Karabakh and communicate face to face on “sensitive issues”, reported Kremlin.
The meeting between Putin and Aliyev takes place in Bishkek. Before this, the last time the presidents communicated was by phone.
Putin named the situation around Karabakh as issue number one, noting that there is another, broader agenda.
“I propose to organize our work in the following way: then, perhaps, we will start with the second part and give our colleagues the opportunity to speak out, talk, and then we will also stay face to face and communicate, talk about the entire complex, including the so-called sensitive questions,” the Russian president suggested.
Aliyev considered Putin’s proposal reasonable, adding that it was necessary to talk with colleagues on a bilateral agenda. He also noted impressive results in trade turnover, industrial cooperation, and cooperation in the transport sector. “And then we’ll go over regional issues and security issues,” he added.
October 12 in Bishkek passed negotiations between Putin and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov. On October 13, Putin will take part in a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS.
