Putin instructed to increase the output of defense products through lean production

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed to ensure an increase in production volumes in the country at priority defense enterprises using lean production methods. List of instructions following the April meeting of the Presidium of the State Council published on the Kremlin website.

“The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, based on the use of positive experience in increasing labor productivity using lean manufacturing methods, should take measures to ensure an increase in production volumes at priority enterprises of the military-industrial complex,” the document says.

These measures should include, among other things, the conditions for admission to defense enterprises of external experts in lean production, follows from the order.

The order must be completed by July 1, and Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov, head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, has been appointed responsible.

In January of this year, Putin named the work of the military industry the most important factor in victory. According to the president, “from the point of view of <...> victory, which is inevitable, in addition to the work of the defense industry, the cohesion of the people of Russia and the heroism of the Russian military personnel are also important.

Later in April Manturov informedthat the Russian enterprises of the military-industrial complex (DIC) have used all possible resources to fulfill the multiply increased state defense order. The main contractors, as well as civilian enterprises involved in the tasks of the defense industry, were able to expand their capacities and form reserves of raw materials, materials and components, Manturov noted. According to him, the output of priority products was increased simultaneously with its improvement based on the experience of the special operation.

On March 31, Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Coordinating Council for meeting the needs of the RF Armed Forces announced that the government had taken measures to multiply the production of weapons in demand.
