Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that the preferential mortgage program will be extended until July 1, 2024. The rate for such programs will increase to 8%. He also said that family mortgage programs with a rate of 6% will be available for families with two children under 18 years of age. In addition, Mr. Putin proposed to provide mortgages at 2% for the construction of new housing in the DPR, LPR, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.
“We will extend preferential mortgages throughout Russia until July 1, 2024, while the rate on it will be slightly higher, increasing to 8%,” Vladimir Putin said at a meeting of the Council for Strategic Development and National Projects.
“I propose a special solution for the new regions of the south-west of Russia: Donetsk, Luhansk people’s republics, as well as Kherson and Zaporozhye regions. For residents of these subjects of the Federation, I propose to provide mortgages for new construction, that is, housing in new buildings at a reduced rate of 2%,” he added.
Vladimir Putin also instructed to extend the industrial mortgage to the construction and modernization of real estate. Now such programs are available only for the purchase of production space.
Family Mortgage was launched in early 2018. Families with a child born between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2023 can receive it. In October the government extended until July 1, 2022.
The preferential mortgage program is due to end on December 31, 2022. Now preferential mortgages are available to all categories of citizens for primary housing for a period of 3 to 30 years and at 6-7% per annum. The maximum amount is 12 million rubles. for Moscow, the Moscow region, St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region, 6 million rubles. for other regions.
