Putin instructed to develop a program of entrepreneurial growth for promising companies

Russian President Vladimir Putin instructed the Agency for Strategic Initiatives to Promote New Projects (ASI), together with the government and regions of the Russian Federation, to develop a program for the entrepreneurial growth of promising domestic companies. List of instructions of the President following the results of the February meeting of the ASI Supervisory Board published on the Kremlin website.

The developed program should include the identification of priority industries and areas of activity, a mechanism for selecting, promoting and expanding the activities of companies, including through special support measures, including information support. The program should also provide for the expansion of production and marketing of domestic products, as well as their promotion to foreign markets.

The first report must be submitted by 1 June. ASI General Director Svetlana Chupsheva and Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin were appointed responsible for the execution.

In addition, Putin instructed the ASI and the government to develop the University of Entrepreneurs training program, which should include pilot higher education programs based on the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology. Chupsheva and Mishustin should make a report before September 1.

Putin spent February 9 meeting of the ASI Supervisory Board. The meeting was dedicated to the results of the agency’s work in 2022 and plans for 2023. During the event, the president said that Russian business has enormous potential for development, and it needs to be supported. The head of state then asked the ASI to build a system for selecting and promoting promising domestic brands in order to help them increase production and sales. The regions of Russia, Putin believes, will actively take up this initiative.

According to Putin, conditions can be created in Russia for domestic goods, services and products to become a source of pride.

“We already have enough of these products, but at this stage we can move faster so that these goods and services are successful not only in the domestic market, but also in foreign markets,” he said at the time.

Earlier, Mishustin said that the decline in the Russian economy in 2022 turned out to be moderate, the economy is now back on a growth trajectory. The Prime Minister stressed that Russia “withstood” in the face of economic pressure, although it “was not easy.” Mishustin noted that “our economic system has shown such flexibility not for the first time.”
