The Kremlin announced a telephone conversation between Vladimir Putin and President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Ebrahim Raisi.
Both sides, as noted in the message, expressed satisfaction with the achieved high level of bilateral relations. The intention to further develop ties between Russia and Iran in various fields – in trade, energy, transport and logistics, and environmental protection was reaffirmed.
Issues of expanding cooperation in international affairs were discussed, including taking into account Iran’s participation as a full member in the SCO and interest in joining the activities of the BRICS.
Putin expressed condolences to the President of the Islamic Republic in connection with the terrorist act in the mosque of the city of Shiraz on August 13.
The previous conversation between the leaders of the two states took place on June 26.
