Putin: fakes should not interfere with the Russian military to do their duty

Fake news and information stuffing should not prevent the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation from fulfilling their duty during the special operation, Russian President Vladimir Putin said during a conversation with military personnel in the Kremlin, where the ceremony of awarding the Gold Star medals to the Heroes of Russia took place.

“All the nonsense of the information confrontation, information stuffing, all sorts of fakes should stay away. They should not prevent us from fulfilling our duty to our people, ”Putin said (quote according to TASS). According to him, “one does not have to be particularly sophisticated in this information confrontation in order to understand what is really happening.”

Earlier, Putin at a meeting with mothers of servicemen declaredthat in the current realities the Internet is a space for fakes and information attacks, nothing can be trusted there. The President added that this has always been the case, but against the backdrop of the development of modern technologies, the problem has become much more acute.

This is not the first time the Russian president has criticized the spread of misinformation on the Internet. So, in the spring of 2021, he declaredthat the global network is capable of destroying society from the inside, if it is not subject to moral laws.

Putin then noted that on the Internet one can encounter calls for participation in illegal street actions, child pornography and prostitution, and the distribution of drugs. In December of the same year, the head of state accused international Internet platforms in massive cases of fraud and abuse of people’s personal data. The President then added that without artificial intelligence technology, which uses big data, including personal data, “it is absolutely impossible to move.”
