Putin extended the term of civil service to the head of Rosfinmonitoring Chikhanchin until June 2024

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended the term of the state civil service until June 17, 2024 to the director of Rosfinmonitoring, Yuri Chikhanchin. Corresponding document published on the official Internet portal of legal information.
Mr. Chikhanchin, 71, was appointed Director of Rosfinmonitoring on June 13, 2012. In March 2016, Vladimir Putin extended the term of civil service to the head of the department beyond the established age limit (65 years).
Subsequently, the term of service of Mr. Chikhanchin was extended twice for a year – on May 4, 2021 and May 26, 2022. The last time it was extended until June 17 this year.
From 1978 to 1994, Mr. Chikhanchin served in the KGB. Later, he headed the East Siberian Regional Directorate of the Federal Service for Currency and Export Control of Russia, headed the currency control department of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, and also headed the secretariat of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.
