Russian President Putin signed a law extending the term for applying for credit holidays
In the Russian Federation, until the end of 2023, the deadline for applying for credit holidays by individuals, individual entrepreneurs (IE) and small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) will be extended. The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
The document states that the deadline for such borrowers to apply for credit holidays is extended until December 31, 2023. We are talking about those persons who entered into loan agreements before March 1, 2022. Those who previously entered into them could apply for credit holidays until March 31, 2022.
The law comes into force from the day of its official publication. It is designed to slightly alleviate the situation of Russians who are experiencing difficulties with the repayment of debt obligations.
