Putin extended the ban on the import and export of certain goods until the end of 2023

Russian President Vladimir Putin extended decree dated March 8 on the application in Russia of special economic measures in the field of foreign economic activity until the beginning of 2024. It provides for a ban on the export and import into Russia of products and raw materials according to the lists determined by the government.
AT document The President instructed the Cabinet of Ministers to draw up a list of foreign countries to which imports of Russian raw materials and products should be restricted. It is clarified that the ban will not affect goods transported by citizens for personal needs.
March 10 government defined a list of goods and equipment temporarily prohibited for export from Russia. The ban was extended to include cars, passenger and cargo ships and yachts, aircraft and drones. The export of these goods is temporarily restricted to all foreign countries, with the exception of the member countries of the Eurasian Economic Union, Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
The decree was signed in addition to the measures envisaged decrees of February 28 “On the application of special economic measures in connection with unfriendly actions of the United States and foreign states and international organizations that have joined them” and of March 1 “On additional temporary economic measures to ensure the financial stability of the Russian Federation.”
October 11 Vladimir Putin for another year extended food embargo introduced in 2014. The embargo covered sausages, fish and seafood, vegetables, fruits and dairy products from the European Union (EU), the United States, Australia, Norway, Canada and Ukraine. October 14, Mr. Putin informedthat Russia is conducting joint import substitution activities with the CIS countries. According to him, “energetic” efforts are being made to switch to settlements in national currencies.
